SaaS solution for quick mobile app launch in closed communities
About the client
This is our own project for developing communities and business clubs worldwide. Networking is now a driving force. We noticed that people are increasingly coming together to exchange useful contacts, but they lack convenient apps for communication and event organization.
We aimed to create an IT product suitable for communities of any theme and quick to launch publicly.
Task
Developing an app for a community from scratch is a non-trivial task requiring significant time and resources.
We needed a universal solution that could be configured and integrated within minutes.
Solution
We gathered experience from the best business clubs to create the perfect app. And implemented everything as a SaaS solution, making it much more accessible than developing a custom app from scratch.
We created two app variants: Hubstr Meta and Hubstr. In Meta, you can create your community within the Hubstr app in 15 minutes! This is convenient to evaluate the benefits of having your own app and test Hubstr features.
The full-fledged Hubstr app is created based on a template with individual settings for each separate community. Such an app has its own logo and name, helping to build image and prestige.
Both apps are developed on the Flutter framework and available for iOS and Android. There is also a web version that fully replicates all mobile app functionality.
Member navigation
The main reason people join closed communities is access to professionals in various business spheres. Through one or two handshakes, you can find a business partner or a specialist with very narrow expertise. But usually, little is known about members in detail, and it's hard to understand who does what.
Hubstr completely solves this problem: there is a list of all residents with brief descriptions of professional activities and expertise. You can search for members and add them to "Favorites." Contacting the right person is just two clicks away.
The community owner independently chooses what information will be displayed in member profiles. Fields and appearance can be edited through settings. For example, a personal account can look like this:
Active community life
in the app
All the most interesting things happen in the "Feed" section. We made it so members can freely share news, communicate in comments, and send requests to everyone at once. You can quickly find a comprehensive solution or answer to a complex question.
Event organization
One of the main goals of any community is uniting people. Live communication does this best, so events are essential. Hubstr serves as a convenient tool to gather all residents at a party, lecture hall, or any other location.
In the separate "Events" tab, the community owner can announce their events, and participants can track interesting happenings and add them to their Calendar.
In the announcement, residents click "Going" / "Not Going," making it easy for the event organizer to determine how many tickets to buy or space to book.
You can attach a questionnaire where participants can select ticket quantities and pay for them immediately in the app via SBP (Fast Payment System).
Live meetings anywhere in the world
Closed communities are often full of businesspeople and travel enthusiasts. For entrepreneurs, it's important to constantly search for useful contacts and interact more with potential partners.
Therefore, we integrated Yandex Maps so you can track the location of nearby residents and schedule meetings. The default radius is 1.5 km, but it can be adjusted in settings.
Participants who don't want to use this feature can disable it so their location remains invisible to others.
Result
Created a universal Flutter solution for community management that can be custom configured in as little as 15 minutes.
Launched the app and received positive feedback from top business clubs: Atlanty, Etalon, Milliard, Gazprom Profsoyuz, and others.
Developed a web version that opens in any browser and replicates all mobile app functions.
Refactored the backend to increase app performance and avoid App Store and Google Play moderation delays.
Continuously developing and technically supporting the app: constantly adding new features and design options.
